Random acts of kindness

25 Feb 2020

Random acts of kindness are no replacement for consistent acts of justice.

I don’t want to diss or discourage random acts of kindness. A random act of kindness can save or radically change someone’s life, and if it is all you ever do with your spare time, then you’re doing a darn side more than most people.

But random acts of kindness alone can’t change the systems that produce the dire circumstances that inspire most random acts of kindness. That’s because they’re random rather than focused.

Focused, consistent action doesn’t provide the dopamine rush of random acts of kindness. But focused, consistent action changes systems.

Consistent acts of justice change the world.
