Allergies? Sleep problems? Depression? Aches and pains?
Many of my friends with this combination of symptoms just throw antihistamines and psychiatric medication at these problems, as though the symptoms are unrelated.
They’re probably not unrelated. People with this combination of symptoms may have a problem with their ‘histamine production line’, usually as a result of genetic and environmental factors working together to trip you up. And most doctors don’t bother to look at these things, which are well documented in medical research.
There are many things I could say now, like, “Learn about mast cells!” or “Learn about epigenetics!” or “Read Yasmina’s blog!”
But for today, I am marking this Twitter thread by someone with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) to learn more about how taking too many antihistamines can mess you up.
